Before all the craziness with the 19th amendment, woman had to put in some work because they didn't have the same rights as men did. Such as men could be in the war and men could vote. Woman didn't think it was fair that men could vote and they couldn't. Woman couldn't attend the same colleges or even own their own property. In 1878, the thought of woman's rights was first brought up. Many were shocked. 41 years later was when everyone started to listen.
