After all the complications the woman from the suffrage group went through, the 19th amendment was finally passed. Alice Paul was force fed and tortured in prison. She wrote down everything that happened to her in prison and somehow got it outside and it got published in the newspaper. President Wilson found out about the horrible situation and decided that woman's suffrage was the right thing to do. Sooner or later the woman passed vote by one at the last minute. On August 18, 1920 the 19th amendment was passed. That was when woman had the same rights as men. A woman can own her own property and even go to the same college as men. Women were just as equal as men were.
